This is the very beginning of your dive journey, and it’s gonna be a fun one! The Open Water Diver online course introduces you to everything SCUBA.
STEP ONE: Online Learning
Sign up for the Online Learning portion of the course right here! You'll learn all about the gear, dive theory, safety standards, and more. This includes video, reading, and interactive review questions and must be completed before you do a pool and classroom session with a local shop.
After registering for the Online Learning, you'll need to download the SSI app where you can access your digital courses, digital certification cards, dive log, and more. We'll send you an email with instructions on how to get logged in.
STEP TWO: Pool & Classroom
To complete your pool and classroom instruction, you'll need to get connected to a local dive shop near you. We're happy to help you find one, simply send us an email at Dive@LeviathanScuba.com.

STEP THREE: Certification Dives
To become a fully certified Open Water Diver, you will then need to sign up for your certification dives where you complete a minimum of 4 dives over 2 days in Open Water, performing the same skills practiced during pool dives. After successful completion, you'll receive your official certification.
Some divers may be able to complete their open water dives through the shop where they do their pool and classroom training. Or you may also choose to be an SSI Referral Diver and complete your certification dives on an upcoming trip. We suggest discussing your options with the shop where you do you pool and classroom training.
